We all shall live. In a world where everything and everyone is moving in a fast pace, our mental health is also disappearing in a fast pace. Many lose sight of their purpose causing them to feel useless on earth. Alone. Neglected. Unsatisfied. Self-harm begins to take place. Then eventually, the devastating event occurs – suicide. It is scary. Loved ones are hurting. Guilt arises. The thought of suicide is a cry for help. Our society has an increasingly high number of suicidal attempts. Many are losing their lives each day. From the rich to the poor, suicide does not discriminate.

Psalms 118:17, “I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the LORD.” English Standard Version. This verse tells believers that we are all here for a purpose. As long as we are alive, we are here to share our testimony of what the LORD has done for us. We will all die some day on earth, but as believers we will live spiritually and eternally. The LORD will protect us from our enemies, and we will live to tell what the LORD has done. For my readers who are dealing with suicidal ideation, I want you to know that the LORD hears your cry for help. I am a living testimony and I know what it is like to have those thoughts. I know what it is like to feel alone. I know what it is like to feel like you do not matter on earth. I am freed from those thoughts, all thanks to the LORD! The LORD has not forgotten you. He wants you to keep living so that you can use your story for his glory. You may not see nor feel it, but the LORD is working. Keep praying, keep reading the word, and keep living. *TIPS* - Recite Psalms 118:17 when suicidal thoughts arise. - Seek therapy or talk to someone you trust - Pray for understanding when reading the word - Always remember you matter to the LORD. Psalms 115:12 “The Lord remembers us, and he will surely bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and the family of Aaron, the priests.” New Living Translation.

Thinking of You

“The LORD remembers us” says the Psalm writer. What a fantastic truth! There are many times when we feel isolated, alone, and abandoned, even by God. In reality, he sees, understands, and is thinking about us. When depressed or struggling, be encouraged that God keeps you in his thoughts. If he thinks about you, surely his help is near. – Student’s Life Application Bible.
